You know your’e going nowhere in life when you start playing roller coaster tycoon again. 

Running on one and a half days without sleep…how the hell am I doing this!!!!!! Oh wait, I forgot I’m so tired…sigh.

Hey, whats up guys/girls. I’m been noticing lately that people want to know more about apples new mouse on their market, its called the “Apple Magic Mouse” and does It perform, fill and make a better mouse then what I have? So I took on the challenge, and went out and bought me the damn thing, and let me tell you something… this mouse better be not just good, but magic for what I payed for It!

I purchased it for $59.99 at my local Apple store.  Now, I have been a mac user for along time now, since 2006, but I hated all the mouses they produced and just sold them on eBay when I bought them and used logitech wireless mouses instead. I took one glimpse at the Magic Mouse at couple websites when It first came out in October of 2009 and said ” NO.” I refused to even think about it. Here we are in 2011; what do you know… I’m sitting at my desk using it, lol. 

First thing you notice? Well… we all noticed that Apple made it wireless and didn’t hold back on what they accomplish with most of their products;making them thinner and lighter. I mean its cool, but it gets to a point where its just getting ridiculous, seriously! Do you have to make them that small? Apple sure went for looks this time, or is there more to it then the looks?   

The sleek mouse has a curved oval design with a white multi-touch shell on top, and an aluminum base. The device has a sensitive motion tracking laser underneath the aluminum base. It weighs in about 45 grams without batteries and 96grams (with).

Magic mouse is (AA)battery powered, the batteries are stored in a compartment under the base. I know some of you are asking yourself”how much time do the batteries give you using the magic mouse?” Well, that question is unique in the way that there’s a  few answers. To answer that, I would have to say that if you use the mouse a lot(like me) It gives you about 1.5 months, if your just using it 2-4 hours a day it will last you 2-3 months. I’m saying this If you turn the mouse off after your done, if not, expect a short life. A lot of people do this and it hurts your budget if you a college student like me, batteries are expensive. My girlfriend sadly enough does… she leaves hers on and always complains about the life of her Magic Mouse(Fail), Haha.

Magic Mouse is a totally new mouse, you need to get used to the ergonomics if your operating it. I HATED it the first day or so, after a few days it gets amazing to use. We people are very used to the mouses you rest the palm of you hand on, in this case you do not. The mouses ergonomics gives you no palm support, its a awkward feeling that mostly applies your fingers and thumb that uses more of the arm motion to move the mouse than the wrists. It’s not bad though, I found it to be fine. Now my old Logitech mouses feel like such a huge arc thats lifting my wrists up and is awkward for me now. You just have to get used to it, some of its a person preference how you hold it too.

We just got done talking about the design, but what about it’s performance? Is it a better mouse? Operation is the full purpose of a mouse right?!  Well, lets continue shall we…lets see how it compares.

so Iv’e had this mouse for six months and this is what iv’e experienced with its performance. First thing, when I unboxed and connected it to my Macbook Pro’s bluetooth (why is it called Bluetooth… does anyone know?lol) the mouse’s curser was EXTREMELY slow… it couldn’t be this terrible could it? Dragging this curser around is almost as bad as those old ball roller mouses, needs to be an option for this, it needs to be changed. Found it! In system preferences(app) in my Macbook Pro I found an option for my mouse. There are all sorts of options and preferences you can choose or remove, I upped the curser speed to the highest percentage it possibly could go, still isn’t as fast as I’m used to, but it works. After a couple hours of using it I got used to the mouse and there was no problem.

Other than the curser speed option, I found multi-touch gestures for my mouse and started experimenting with them. Now, I only gazed upon the few that the mouse offers but,they are actually a treat to use while on my mac. The Zoom/scroll is so accurate it blows my mind! My favorite. Its like a mini track pad on my mouse! Might take awhile to understand the motions of the mouse, took me a week or so before I didn’t have to even think about the motion or go back and remember what it was to activate the motion, I just did it! The white shell is very sensitive on touch, it sometimes gets frustrating when trying to learn, especially the swipe feature ,this gets very tricky even if it doesn’t look hard at all. Don’t be deceived!!

Clicking. The whole shell is one click;no other buttons. I was very pissed when I bought the mouse because it didn’t have a short cut click ( right click)  so I used the control-click function for about a month, and got really good at it too. It’s a habit I’m still trying to break lol. But! I was wrong… it did have a right click. doh! Me totally skimming over the option of “activate right click” in the mouse presences was a total fail. The clicking is really good… no problems other than I sometimes right click and it activates the normal click in result of miss clicking, make sure you click in the corner or the right portion of the Magic Mouse. Its just like a normal mouse in that it clicks in the same way, sorta…3/4 of the mouse is able to click, clicking all the way down to the Apple logo at the bottom( I wouldn’t recommend you clicking that far down on the mouse). With that said, I say clicking and multi-touch with this mouse is just awesome. I think it’s the best yet in that its a marvel in technology and performance, I wouldn’t be surprised if rival companies infest and copy the idea of this sorta tech with mouses, just like they did with the iPad and other Products.  

So, the final verdict: Iv’e finally changed my opinion on the Apple Magic Mouse. I really do wish I would of bought it when it first came out, it is amazing! It’s great for getting around in a very easy fashion on a Mac, even for people like me who are in multimedia, it makes it a snap in skimming and changing percentages of an effect of a video or picture just by a swipe of the fingers.  I haven’t gone back to any other mouse; still using Magic Mouse.  

The only cons I have are the ergonomics of the Mouse, it sometimes puts strain on your wrist or hand when using it along time, but does it’s job.  With that said…does it perform, fill and make a better mouse: yes, in a way. Makes a better mouse in they way it performs, navigating is a lot easier and quicker. Fills fine to a person that is actually operating it at the time, it will not when first trying it. 

Would I recommend it this Product? Yes

I rate the “Apple Magic Mouse” 8.5 out of 10

Watched an amazing english made film called “Blitz” just barely.  I’m In love with this film, well i’m in love with lots of movies to say… ,but this is one of them! You guys should watch it if you not offended by Bloody effects and occasional use of the F-word.

The movie is based off of the novel, though I did not read it nor find out until the end credits, so if you like to read novels before experiencing films I would recommend that.  It’s a action, thriller, mystery movie(guy movie. I know right?!) Based in London England, Starring Jason Statham (Action hero badass) working with the London police to solve a mystery of a series of cop killings caused by the Blitz!

I would recommend It to people who are enthusiastic about Action intense movies,or girls who just love Jason Statham, haha. IMDB rated it a total of 6.2 out of 10 stars, but I would at least give it a 7.5 or even more; but not a full ten. I give it a thumbs up. Peace!
